Hotel Providence

LOVE this hotel! My wife and I have stayed here twice now to celebrate our wedding anniversary (we met in Providence, after all!) and both times we've had a fantastic time. Beautiful room, fantastic and polite staff, great views from the window, beautiful restaurant. Couldn't be happier. We were especially pleased with the over-the-top kind and courteous treatment we received from Zion at the front desk (though *EVERYONE* on staff was a pleasure to interact with). We will definitely be back, again and again!

The area that the hotel was in was very nice. There are a lot of cool restaurants and bars near by. The room was okay and the beds were comfortable, but the sink was leaking from the faucets and the room had a smell that wasn’t exactly great. The service was non-existent. One night I went down to the bar at 8:30 and the doors were locked but I heard talking. There were other guests waiting at check-in and asked me if I knew if anyone worked there, so I walked to the other back door at the bar which was unlocked and there were 4 staff just hanging out at the bar. They also did not tell me that there was a $40.00 per night valet charge. I found this out after I checked out of the hotel when it was added to my credit card. I called and asked why I wasn’t told about this beforehand and they just kept repeating that it was the hotels policy. I tipped the valet driver every day, and I would have tipped a lot less if I knew there was also a fee. On top of that your car isn’t even in a garage or anywhere protected, it’s a few blocks away behind a bank accessible to the public, so make sure you don’t leave anything valuable in your car. For the price of everything, especially the initial $300 dollars worth of fees for 4 days stay, the only reason to stay here is because of the area around it. Otherwise, the staff doesn't care and the tacked on fees are underhanded and deceptive.

The location was absolutely perfect, my suite was divine, the hotel is beautiful in general, but what *really* shone were the two associates at the front desk. Molly and Nicole deserve the highest praise - they were the most helpful front desk staff I have *ever* encountered at a hotel (and I travel A LOT for work and pleasure). Please, please give them a raise, and beg them to never leave!! They take such exquisite care of their guests!!! I would stay at this hotel again, just because of Molly and Nicole! Thank you so much for the fantastic stay!!!
